Pricing For New Honda HR-V Sport
The new model gets a power boost and handling tweaks
Honda have announced the pricing and specs for the new HR-V Sport model. The new Sport grade follows the vehicle's update last August, and introduces performance damper tuning and a power-assisted rack and pinion steering system that adds pleasure to the driving experience.
Putting the punch beneath the bonnet is the latest version of the 1.5-litre VTEC diesel unit – borrowed from the current Civic range – that imparts 182bhp, giving the HR-V 52 more horses than the previous petrol, and 62 more than the old diesel. Manual models could achieve up to 47.9mpg, with the CVT promising 47.1 by comparison.
On the outside, the Sport gets gloss black trimmings and a honeycomb grille plus a front splitter, side skirts and different wheel arch and rear bumper designs.
The lighting is all LED, from the headlights and indicators to the daytime running lights, and the tail lights are finished with a smoky effect.
As with all other HR-V models, Honda's SENSING safety suite means that the Sport includes emergency braking, forward collision warning, lane assist and departure warning, road departure mitigation, adaptive cruise control and road sign recognition.
Inside, the dashboard plays home to a seven-inch touchscreen with Honda CONNECT, incorporating internet browsing and Garmin sat-nav.
The HR-V Sport is on sale now, with the manual version starting at £27,595 and the CVT at £28,245.
